TORONTO, October 29, 2020 – The Psychology Foundation of Canada receives an $18,000 Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund grant to help children and families in Calgary build core coping skills to promote their mental well-being The Psychology Foundation of Canada is pleased to receive an $18,000 grant from the Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund to support Kids Have Stress Too! and Stress Lessons training for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary (BBBS Calgary) staff, mentors and families to help prevent and mitigate mental health issues for youth facing adversities in the Calgary area. Full release.


TORONTO, February 20th, 2020 – MAKE THE CONNECTION 0-3 ELEARNING COURSE LAUNCHES TODAY giving access to VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES ON CRUCIAL INFANT ATTACHMENT INFORMATION. The most rapid period of brain development is the first three years of life and neuroscience research indicates that it is the parent-child attachment relationship that is essential for healthy brain development. The Psychology Foundation of Canada (PFC) has created Make the Connection 0-3 eLearning Course to ensure that every family has access to attachment-promoting activities that will be particularly useful for parents or primary caregivers that may be at risk for a poor attachment.

TORONTO, June 3, 2019 – 24/7 THE WORKING PARENT RESOURCE LAUNCHES TODAY TO SUPPORT THE PSYCHOLOGICAL HEALTH OF CANADIAN PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN. Canadian parents are feeling most challenged by juggling daily routines, finding quality time with their children and time for self-care, according to a survey of more than 1,000 working parents by The Psychology Foundation of Canada (PFC). To address this important issue, PFC with support from  Workplace Strategies for Mental Health, launches a new resource today: 24/7 The Working Parent, to support the psychological health of Canadian working parents and their children.  Click below for full release.

Toronto (April 10, 2018) – In recognition of ERDI being a catalyst of mental health promotion with students across Canada, Dr. Robin Alter, Co-Chair of the Kids Have Stress Too! and past Board of Trustee at The Psychology Foundation of Canada, awarded ERDI on April 6th with a plaque honouring their leadership, advice and support to address the mental health needs of school communities.  With expertise and direction from ERDI over 34,000 stress lessons guides have been used by Canadian educators impacting over 3.4 million students with an evidence-based stress management and resiliency building program.

Toronto (January 29, 2018) – Stressed out high schoolers lead The Psychology Foundation of Canada to develop resiliency building stress management resource. Many Canadian teens are stressed; helping them recognize the signs and symptoms of stress and identify and implement coping and problem-solving strategies is key to building resilience.  This is the premise and focus behind The Psychology Foundation of Canada’s new resource: Stress Lessons: Tools for Resiliency. Full of psychologically-sound strategies and tools, this resource will help teens develop resilience and positive coping skills, and includes components for teachers, counselors, administrators, parents and caregivers.  Attached is the full press release.

Toronto (August 31, 2017) – 4 signs and symptoms a child is stressed out not acting out. Significant adults in a child’s life key to stress management.
Helping  children recognize four signs and symptoms of their own stress is key to helping them become confident and productive adults, according to experts at The Psychology Foundation of Canada.  Back-to-school is filled with increased excitement and challenges for children and with some kids jam-packed with uncharacteristic behaviours too.  Adults are pivotal in working with children to adopt strategies that enable them to manage the inevitable highs and lows of a new school year.
